Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood Takes Centre Stage in New Exhibit

Preview: Mount Pleasant Vernacular

This month, we’re thrilled to welcome graphic designer and photographer Emmanuel Buenviaje to Rize Mount Pleasant.

As part of the collaborative 5 exhibit, Mount Pleasant Vernacular sees Emmanuel explore the physical, graphic language of the neighbourhood and acknowledge the industrial past of the area.

Emmanuel is fascinated by the complexity of the urban landscape and the commonplace. He explains, “For this series, I wanted to push and explore the practice of photo documentary towards a personal visual language. With a graphic design background, I rely on sound design principles where colour, composition and play become one.”

A preview of Emmanuel’s work has piqued our interest, and we can’t wait to see the pieces in person. Check out these stunning images to get a better idea of what you can expect from Emmanuel’s showcase .
